Free plugin

# Install the beta ZIP

Testers get the plugin as a ZIP file before it’s on WordPress.org. Installing it takes about two minutes.

**Start on a staging or fresh site.** It’s beta software. Back up first, and don’t move your only paying course on day one.

## Before you start

- WordPress [6.x] or newer and PHP [8.x] or newer
- A current MySQL or MariaDB database
- The ZIP and Pro licence key from your welcome email

## Install it

1. In wp-admin, go to **Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin**.
2. Choose the RootWright LMS ZIP and select **Install Now**.
3. Select **Activate**. RootWright creates its tables on activation.
4. Open **RootWright → Settings → Licence** and paste your Pro key. [Confirm menu path.]

## Check it worked

Open your database tool and look for tables starting with `rootwright_lms_`. Then log in as a test student and try `/wp-admin`; you should land back in the student app.
